Battlefield 6 open beta missing DLSS/DLAA, EA confirms — matchmaking issues also hamper second weekend launch

EA has officially acknowledged that the second weekend of the Battlefield 6 open beta, which commenced on August 14, is currently experiencing some technical challenges. Notably, the absence of DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) has been a significant concern for players, alongside matchmaking difficulties.

Technical Challenges in the Open Beta

The open beta’s second weekend promises to deliver all the maps from the initial weekend, alongside the newly introduced Empire State map. Players can also engage in a variety of modes, including Rush, Squad Deathmatch, and modified versions of Conquest and Breakthrough.

In a recent update on X, the Battlefield communications team stated, “The team have identified the root cause of this issue and is working to have this resolved and DLSS / DLAA active once again within the Battlefield Open Beta. We anticipate this to be resolved later today (Thursday), and will update accordingly.”

In addition to the graphical concerns, EA has reported ongoing matchmaking issues affecting a segment of players attempting to join playlists. The company has recommended that users ensure they have the latest client update and utilize the ‘Repair’ functionality available in the EA app, accessible via the three-dot menu.

Players encountering these issues are not alone, as reports of various other glitches, including audio problems, have surfaced. EA encourages users to share their experiences, whether through comments or social media, to assist in identifying and addressing these concerns.

As the official launch of Battlefield 6 approaches on October 10, the stakes are high for this installment, which aims to revitalize the franchise following the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042. With a legacy that includes beloved titles such as Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, the upcoming release is seen as pivotal.

Despite the current challenges, the beta has shown promise, with reports suggesting over 600,000 pre-orders on PC alone and more than 2.7 million wishlists. While these figures remain unverified, the open beta has already achieved a peak of over 521,000 concurrent players, surpassing Call of Duty before its official launch.
