Recently, he shared a screenshot on the Battlefield subreddit showcasing the “Gold Standard” skin for the LGT, a rare reward for reaching rank 50 with the vehicle. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the jeep’s notorious reputation.
In a conversation with PC Gamer, Renegade explained his strategy: positioning the jeep strategically near narrow alleyways, then taking aim from the gunner seat to ambush unsuspecting foes. “I would wait at the objectives or narrow pathways and wait for [enemies] to come towards me,” he recounted. Over a month, he managed to accumulate an impressive 2,500 to 3,000 XP per game, although he admitted that the method may not have been the most efficient.
His journey to rank 50 was not without its challenges. Renegade described the experience as a grueling test of endurance that took a toll on his “sanity.” Notably, he refrained from playing on casual servers, opting instead for the more demanding normal Conquest and Escalation modes, as the latter provided greater rewards for his efforts.
When asked about his motivation for pursuing this achievement, Renegade candidly stated, “I wanted to have the level 50 [jeep] badge on my profile as kind of a flex, since I know not too many people will get it.” The mastery badge, adorned in a striking ruby finish, stands out prominently against the more common bronze, silver, and gold badges, serving as a testament to his dedication.
Despite his accomplishment, Renegade remains realistic about the LGT’s shortcomings. “It’s a bad vehicle because it has no protection,” he asserted. He believes that even a simple shield for the machine gun would significantly enhance its effectiveness. To minimize the risk of becoming an easy target, he exclusively used the jeep in a stationary manner, only repositioning it as necessary. If a squadmate attempted to drive, he would leave the squad to maintain control over his strategy.
As discussions around the LGT continue, Renegade’s experience serves as a reminder of the challenges players face in navigating the game’s transport options. Many hope for improvements to the LGT, including the addition of protective features or the introduction of alternative vehicles like the Traverser Mk2, which has been well-received in earlier seasons.
