New Features in Dusk on Xbox Consoles
After a seven-year wait, New Blood’s Dusk has finally made its debut on Xbox consoles, much to the delight of fans. To mark this significant milestone, the studio has introduced a captivating new addition: Dusk Gulch, a map inspired by the beloved Halo classic, Blood Gulch.
Dusk Gulch offers players a fresh take on the iconic 2fort-style capture the flag arena, bringing a sense of nostalgia while also providing a unique gameplay experience. Designed primarily for the game’s wave survival mode, this map can also be enjoyed in the Duskworld multiplayer mode. I had the opportunity to dive into a few rounds, and I must say, the experience was quite enjoyable.
What sets Dusk Gulch apart is its more intimate scale compared to Blood Gulch. To ensure my impressions weren’t merely a product of nostalgia, I conducted a bit of research, confirming that my memories were indeed accurate.
For those looking to explore Vriska’s latest creation, it’s important to note that accessing Dusk Gulch requires a few steps. Players new to Dusk mods will need to select the “Play Dusk – Moddable” option in the Steam launch popup. Unlike the Xbox version, where the map appears in the main Endless mode list, players on Steam will find Dusk Gulch under “Campaign,” then “Custom Levels.” Simply locate it on the list to jump into the action.
As the gaming community embraces this new chapter for Dusk, the addition of Dusk Gulch not only enhances the gameplay but also pays homage to a cherished classic, ensuring that both new players and veterans can enjoy a blend of nostalgia and innovation.
