Drop Fake Reveals DCKO Mobile Fighting Game
Drop Fake has officially unveiled DCKO, a new mobile fighting game that will feature characters from the DC Universe. Scheduled for release on iOS and Android in 2027, this licensed title will offer 2-on-2 tag team battles, story-driven PvE content, and live real-time PvP matches, making it the first DC mobile fighting game to include player-versus-player gameplay.
The development of the DCKO mobile fighting game is led by a newly formed studio comprised of developers behind one of the most successful mobile fighting games in history. Licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC, the game will focus on fast-paced arcade combat that is easy to pick up yet allows for advanced strategies through team composition, combo chains, and tactical assists.
Players will have the opportunity to assemble teams of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains, with confirmed characters like Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Constantine, Superman, and Nightwing. Each fighter can be utilized in both single-player and online multiplayer modes, enabling players to explore different combinations and playstyles.
The online competition in DCKO revolves around live PvP battles, where players can challenge opponents worldwide, climb leaderboards, and enhance their roster over time. Characters can unlock new abilities and stat upgrades, while teams can be customized to cater to various strategies, whether focusing on close-range attacks or faster damage-dealing fighters.
Gene Campbell, the Creative Director, expressed the studio’s ambition for DCKO to advance mobile fighting games by introducing live multiplayer, a feature deemed essential to the genre. The developers aim to foster a competitive community and will reveal more details in the future.
Aside from multiplayer, DCKO includes a dedicated PvE mode with an original storyline. Players will combat enemies like Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Assassins, Amazo’s robot army, and Trigon’s demon forces, earning currency and experience to enhance their characters for online matches.
The game showcases a “Neo-Comic” visual style inspired by DC comic books, featuring bold outlines, vibrant colors, and stylized super move animations. Battles will take place in iconic locations such as Themyscira, the Batcave, and the Lazarus Pits, with additional costume variants based on DC’s history that can be unlocked or purchased as players progress.
DCKO is set to launch for iOS and Android in 2027, with pre-registration now open on the game’s official website for access to an upcoming beta.
