After a year of anticipation, Kojima Productions has officially confirmed the release of the PC version of Death Stranding 2, with the launch just over three weeks away. Port developer Nixxes has shared the official system requirements, which are surprisingly accessible for most gamers.
While higher specifications will undoubtedly enhance the gaming experience, the minimum requirements are quite manageable. For those still operating on a system with only 8GB of RAM, it may be time for an upgrade. Fortunately, RAM prices have become more favorable, making it easier to boost your setup to the recommended 16GB. Additionally, the game requires a substantial 150GB of SSD storage, nearly double the original Death Stranding, reflecting the increasing size of modern games.
For those equipped with higher-end hardware, the game promises a “very high” specification that supports 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Players can take advantage of advanced upscaling and frame generation technologies, including Nvidia DLSS 4, AMD FSR4, and Intel XESS 2. Notably, the introduction of “Pico” upscaling marks its debut in a PC port, offering a versatile option for all supported graphics cards. This feature can be combined with various frame generation settings and Dynamic Resolution Scaling, ensuring a customizable performance experience.
Moreover, ultrawide displays are supported for both gameplay and cutscenes, allowing players to enjoy a broader field of view. For those using standard 16:9 monitors, the game includes an option to play in a 21:9 aspect ratio, a feature that will also be available in the PS5 version of Death Stranding.
