Epic Games Store app launches on iOS in EU and Android worldwide

Epic Games Launches Epic Games Store on iOS and Android

After years of battling with Apple and Google over their app store policies, Epic Games has finally launched its Epic Games Store (EGS) on iOS in the European Union and on Android worldwide.

In the EU, users can now download the EGS app from Safari, thanks to changes in the region’s Digital Markets Act. On Android, a similar process is required through Chrome.

Once downloaded, users can access popular games like Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe through the EGS app.

Initially planned for a 2024 launch, Epic accused Apple of stalling their efforts due to App Store policies. However, the launch in the EU marks a significant milestone.

Epic is now working to bring the Epic Games Store to iOS in other locations and streamline the process for users worldwide.

Alongside the mobile rollout, Epic also announced a new Fortnite crossover event with Marvel, featuring the iconic Fantastic Four villain Dr. Doom.
