Game over: NVIDIA is limiting how much GeForce Now you can play each month

NVIDIA Implements Playtime Cap for GeForce Now Users

GeForce Now users are in for a change as NVIDIA announces a playtime cap of 100 hours per month starting in 2025. This move is sure to stir some emotions among the gaming community.

In addition to the playtime cap, NVIDIA revealed some exciting updates for its streaming platform. The Priority tier will now be known as Performance, offering benefits such as 1440p resolution, ultrawide resolutions, and the ability to save in-game graphics settings across sessions at no extra cost.

However, the major shift comes with the introduction of the 100-hour monthly playtime limit for Performance and Ultimate subscriptions next year. NVIDIA explains that this change aims to maintain quality, speed, and shorter queue times for members, with 94% of users falling within this playtime range.

While the majority of users may not exceed the 100-hour limit, the restriction does take away the previously unlimited playtime feature. Unused hours will roll over to the next month, with a maximum of 15 hours carrying over. For those who need more playtime, NVIDIA offers the option to purchase additional hours for a fee.

Existing paid members signed up before December 31, 2024, will continue to enjoy unlimited playtime until 2026. Founders members will retain unlimited playtime for life, while free memberships are exempt from the playtime cap.
