Rockstar Games has officially announced that the highly anticipated GTA 5 Enhanced Update 2025 for PC is set to launch on March 4, 2025. In an exciting turn of events, players can now pre-load the update, which has recently become accessible on both the Rockstar Games Launcher and Steam platforms.
GTA 5 Enhanced Update 2025 pre-load size reportedly revealed to be about 91 GB on PC
According to a recent post by Grand Theft Auto YouTuber @Gtamen, the pre-load size for the update is approximately 91 GB. This information was shared alongside a screenshot from the Rockstar Games Launcher, confirming the file size and pre-load option.
The forthcoming update promises to integrate exclusive features from the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, often referred to as the Expanded and Enhanced Edition. Among the enhancements are HSW Performance upgrades, the introduction of current-gen console-exclusive vehicles, and various technical improvements. Although Rockstar first hinted at this update back in November 2024, the specific release date was only disclosed recently.
For those eager to prepare for the update, the file sizes on each platform are as follows:
- Rockstar Games Launcher: 91.53 GB
- Steam: 89 GB
This file size is comparable to that of the current-gen console versions, with the launch version of Grand Theft Auto 5 Expanded and Enhanced on PS5 being around 86 GB at its debut in March 2022.
Importantly, the Enhanced Update 2025 will be available at no additional cost for all existing owners of the game on PC. Rockstar has also provided the minimum and recommended system requirements for the update, ensuring players are well-informed ahead of the launch.
Furthermore, the current PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will continue to receive support post-update. However, it is crucial to note that players using the older version will not be able to engage with Grand Theft Auto Online alongside those who have updated their game.
