During the recent expedition festival, players encountered the intriguing weird pictos in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a curious quest item obtained by trading a token with Tom. While their purpose remains shrouded in mystery, it’s evident that these pictos are not intended for use within the city of Lumiere, as they are acquired just before embarking on the journey to the continent. This leaves adventurers with a delightful puzzle: how to utilize these peculiar items as they explore the vast game world.
How to use weird pictos in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
To unlock the potential of the weird pictos, players must first reach the Gestral Village. Although the village is not far from the starting point, getting there requires navigating through several story-driven areas and overcoming multiple bosses. Fortunately, the narrative will guide players directly to this destination.
Upon arrival in Gestral Village, players should make their way to the bazaar on the left, where they will find the Gestral Merchant, Jujubree, engaged in conversation with a customer near the entrance. A simple interaction with him will grant access to his wares.

Once the shop menu is closed, Jujubree will notice the weird pictos in your inventory and express interest in examining them. This interaction can lead to significant upgrades; for instance, one player reported that their Augmented Aim picto was enhanced by three levels, elevating it from level two to level five. It’s worth noting that if you haven’t acquired the Augmented Aim picto, this upgrade might apply to a different picto in your collection.
Regardless of which picto benefits from this enhancement, a three-level increase is a substantial boost. While it remains uncertain if additional weird pictos can be discovered throughout the game, players are encouraged to return to Jujubree with any they find for further enhancements.
