Signal Veil, A Survival Horror Game Inspired by ’90s Anime, Announced for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox X|S, & PC

A new psychological survival horror game titled Signal Veil is being developed by the Chilean studio Time Hunters in collaboration with Tokyo-based publisher Serafini Productions. The game features a ’90s anime aesthetic and follows Aki Mizuno, a teenage girl searching for her missing mother at Nishikawa High School. Aki inherits a supernatural cellphone that helps her detect spirits and interact with the environment. The gameplay includes fixed camera angles reminiscent of classic survival horror games, strategic combat with limited resources, and ritual-like enemy encounters. An official release date has not been announced, but players can add it to their digital wishlists.

During testing, issues arose where the SMS draft would not appear if the dialer was opened first, leading to adjustments in the code. A method was implemented to launch multiple intents simultaneously, ensuring that the SMS draft and dialer could be accessed without conflicts. Additionally, the recording feature was modified to start only after a second tap on the red button, separating it from the alert process to avoid distractions during emergencies. The app does not collect location data and is designed solely for logging and communication without diagnostic capabilities.
