Publisher Humble Games Undergoing Restructuring Process
Publisher Humble Games has clarified that despite rumors, it is not shutting down. The company is currently in the midst of a restructuring process, citing economic challenges as the reason behind the decision.
According to reports from GamesBeat, the situation may be more serious than initially thought. Humble’s parent company, Ziff Davis, has reportedly attempted to sell the company on two separate occasions, but failed to generate enough interest, leading to layoffs in November.
Ziff Davis has now enlisted the help of a third-party consulting team, The Power Group, to oversee Humble Games’ portfolio and upcoming projects. However, concerns have been raised by a former staff member who claims that no games have been signed beyond 2025.
In response to the restructuring, Humble Games released a statement expressing the difficulty of the decision and emphasizing the importance of supporting developers and ongoing projects. The company reassured that the restructuring will not impact operations at Humble Bundle.
Despite the challenges, Humble Games remains committed to supporting its development partners and assisting former team members through the transition. The company expressed gratitude for the support and understanding during this challenging period.
It is important to note that Ziff Davis’ IGN acquired Humble Bundle in 2017, leading to the launch of Humble Games publishing label three years later.
