Kingdom Come: Deliverance star says it didn’t lead to work in other games: ‘The industry at large has never really given a f***’

Voices in the Spotlight

In the realm of video games, few titles have captured the imagination quite like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Central to its allure are the characters of Henry of Skalitz and Lord Hans Capon, brought to life by the talented voice actors Tom McKay and Luke Dale. Their performances have resonated with players, creating memorable experiences that linger long after the game is turned off.

Despite the acclaim surrounding his portrayal of Capon, Dale recently shared a sobering reality during an appearance on Firezide Chat. He expressed a sense of disappointment, noting that his work on Kingdom Come 2 has not translated into further opportunities within the industry. “I wish I could say that Kingdom Come 2, the work I’ve done and the fact it’s been played by millions of people led to more work, but it didn’t,” he admitted.

While his voice acting journey may not have opened the doors he had hoped for, Dale has embraced a new path. With a growing audience of 72,000 followers on Twitch, he has turned to streaming as a way to connect with fans and share his passion for gaming. “I thought, ‘How can I turn this into something really cool for me?’ That’s where streaming came in,” he explained. “People seem to want me to do it, so let’s do that.”

Dale’s enthusiasm for streaming is palpable, and he encourages fellow actors to consider this avenue. “I’ve seen a lot of actors who’ve had these big opportunities to stream the game they’re in as the lead character, and I’m thinking, ‘Why aren’t you doing that?'” he remarked. “It’s not for everyone, so I get that, but give it some thought. Don’t just let it pass you by, because it could be the best thing you ever did. It certainly was for me. It changed my life completely.”
