Xbox Insiders are set to experience a significant enhancement in their gaming experience this week, as Microsoft introduces its new aggregated gaming library within the Xbox PC app on Windows. This innovative feature allows users to access their Steam and Battle.net games alongside their Xbox titles, effectively transforming the app into a centralized launcher for a majority of PC games installed on their systems.
The rollout of this consolidated library is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to position the Xbox app as the premier destination for PC gaming, aiming to rival established platforms like Steam and SteamOS. As noted by Manisha Oza, product manager for the Xbox platform, the integration is designed to streamline the gaming experience. “When a player installs a game from a supported PC storefront, it will automatically appear in ‘My library’ within the Xbox PC app, as well as the ‘Most recent’ list of titles in the sidebar — making it easier than ever to jump back into your games,” she explained.
This new feature is expected to expand further, with support for additional PC storefronts planned for future updates. For those eager to explore the new aggregated library, joining the Xbox Insider program is straightforward. Users can download the Xbox Insider Hub on their PC and enroll in the PC gaming preview. Additionally, the app provides options to manage game visibility, allowing users to hide any PC storefronts they prefer not to display in the Library & Extensions section of the settings.
