In a spirited nod to the end of the week, the latest Pre-Release for version 1.21.11 has arrived, bringing with it a host of enhancements and bug fixes designed to improve the gaming experience. This update particularly shines when the “See-Through Leaves” feature is disabled, ensuring that players can enjoy a more visually appealing environment while mining.
Changes
- With the “See-Through Leaves” video setting turned off, players will now notice that the gaps between leaves have transformed from black to a rich dark green, adding a touch of vibrancy to the landscape.
- Disabling the “See-Through Leaves” setting not only enhances aesthetics but also provides a more significant performance boost than previously experienced, allowing for smoother gameplay.
Fixed bugs in 1.21.11 Pre-Release 2
- MC-238715: Resolved an issue where the “minecraft:block.chest.locked” sound was inaudible to other players when attempting to access locked blocks.
- MC-302660: Corrected a grammatical error in the “options.cutoutLeaves.tooltip” string, which was missing the word “you.”
- MC-303061: Fixed the sound issue where the “minecraft:block.chest.locked” sound played at the player’s position instead of the chest’s.
- MC-304023: Eliminated redundant level data fixer files that were unnecessarily saved in the worlds’ “data” folder.
- MC-304369: Addressed a crash that occurred when loading the game without an existing options.txt file.
- MC-304401: Corrected the appearance of non see-through leaves, which looked different compared to the previous snapshot.
- MC-304421: Resolved an issue where the “attack_range” component disrupted hit results.
Get the Pre-Release
For those eager to explore the latest features, Pre-Releases are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. It is important to note that testing versions can potentially corrupt your world, so be sure to back up your data and/or run them in a separate folder from your main worlds.
Additionally, as preparations are underway to remove obfuscation from Java Edition, players can access a non-obfuscated experimental version of this snapshot through the Minecraft Launcher:
- Download the provided zip file.
- Unpack the folder into your “versions” directory within your local Minecraft application data folder.
- Start (or restart) the Launcher.
