Minecraft 1.21.6 Pre-Release 1 Modifies Dried Ghast Sounds, Vibrations and More
Mojang is making strides towards the highly anticipated second major release of 2025 with the unveiling of Minecraft 1.21.6 Pre-Release 1. This latest update marks a pivotal moment as the development team shifts its focus primarily to bug fixes, while also introducing a series of intriguing tweaks and modifications to enhance gameplay. Let’s explore the notable changes that accompany this pre-release.
New Vibration Mechanics and Ambient Sounds
The Minecraft 1.21.6 Pre-Release 1 brings subtle yet significant adjustments to the game’s ambient noises and vibration mechanics. One of the standout changes is the dried ghast blocks, which now emit a vibration frequency of 11 whenever their block state changes. This alteration invites players to experiment with how sculk sensors will respond to these new vibrations.
Additionally, the ambient sounds produced by dried ghast blocks have been reclassified under the Blocks sound setting, moving away from the previous Ambient/Environment category. This change enhances the overall auditory experience within the game.
Equipping and Unequipping Mechanics
In a further refinement of gameplay mechanics, players will notice that equipping saddles, horse armor, or carpets on mobs now triggers a vibration frequency of 6. Conversely, unequipping these items results in a vibration frequency of 4. These adjustments aim to create a more immersive interaction with the game’s mechanics.
Improved Flying Experience
Players who enjoy riding happy ghasts will be pleased to learn that a previously encountered issue has been resolved. Riders will no longer pass through another happy ghast already occupied by a player, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable flying experience.
Technical Enhancements
On the technical side, several updates have been implemented, including changes to the Data Pack version, which is now set to 79, and the Resource Pack version, updated to 63. The pre-release also introduces improved dialog functionality, specifying whether dialogs pause or close after an action is taken. Furthermore, dialogs now support inputs, with a standardized order of body, inputs, and actions.
These modifications encapsulate the essence of the Minecraft 1.21.6 Pre-Release 1. As Mojang hints at the possibility of multiple updates each week moving forward, players are encouraged to explore these new features and stay engaged with the evolving landscape of Minecraft.
