Having recently experienced a preview build of the highly anticipated 2D beat-’em-up, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, I found myself genuinely impressed. This game promises to be more than just a typical button-masher; it is evolving into a vibrant homage to the distinctiveness of Marvel’s superheroes.
Public Demo Now Available
The excitement surrounding the game has reached new heights with the release of its first public demo on Steam. Players can now immerse themselves in the action and see for themselves what makes this title stand out.
The demo retains much of what I experienced earlier this year, with some refinements and updated menus enhancing the overall experience. Players can dive into two levels in arcade mode: the bustling streets of New York City and the iconic SHIELD helicarrier. The demo features nine playable characters, including beloved heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America, and Wolverine.
In addition to Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the gaming landscape is rich with other upcoming beat-’em-ups. For instance, Absolum offers a contrasting experience with its fantasy setting and roguelike structure, delivering equally thrilling combat and stunning visuals.
While a specific release date for Marvel Cosmic Invasion remains under wraps, it is expected to launch within the year, suggesting that fans won’t have to wait much longer. In the meantime, I’ll be honing my sound effects skills—Snikt! Thwip! Pow!
