Promising Time-Loop Metroidvania Echo Weaver Arrives On Consoles And PC This October

Anticipation Builds for Echo Weaver’s Upcoming Release

Echo Weaver has captured the attention of indie game enthusiasts since its inception, particularly for its innovative time-loop mechanic and a fresh take on the Metroidvania genre. Developer Moonlight Kids has coined the term “Metroidbrainia” to describe this unique approach, and it has certainly piqued our interest. After much anticipation, we are excited to share that Game Informer has an exclusive reveal: Echo Weaver is set to launch on consoles and PC on October 8.

In Echo Weaver, players assume the role of the last Weaver navigating the remnants of a desolate world. Staying true to the Metroidvania tradition, the game features an expansive 2D map filled with puzzles, enemy encounters, and the acquisition of new abilities. However, the game’s progression hinges not on merely unlocking these abilities but rather on the player’s capacity to master specific mechanics. This design choice allows for a more organic learning experience, as players can discover and utilize powers even if they encounter them before the in-game tutorials.

During our early gameplay sessions, we found the puzzles, combat, and platforming elements to be meticulously crafted, reinforcing our excitement for this title from Moonlight Kids. The thoughtful design encourages exploration and skill development, making each encounter feel rewarding.

For those who subscribe to Game Informer, a digital preview of Echo Weaver is currently available for your perusal. If this intriguing title resonates with you, mark your calendars for October 8, when it will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
