Rockstar Games Release New Update To Support FiveM, PC Game Pass, Discord And More

Rockstar Games has taken a significant step forward with its latest update to the Rockstar Games Launcher, enhancing the integration of Discord’s Rich Presence across its gaming titles. This update not only supports the newly released PC version of FiveM but also lays the groundwork for a more connected gaming experience.

Last week, discussions emerged surrounding an update to GTA Online, which hinted at the potential for Discord integration. Insider Tez2 noted that while Rockstar had begun implementing Discord’s Rich Presence system into GTA V, it required an update to the Rockstar Games Launcher for full functionality.

Yesterday, Rockstar rolled out a new update for their launcher, igniting speculation among fans regarding the activation of Discord’s Rich Presence. However, the patch notes released by the company were somewhat ambiguous:

  • Improvements have been made to the sign-in and sign-out flow of the Rockstar Games Launcher.
  • General enhancements to the Rockstar Games Launcher have been implemented.

Discord Integration

While the patch notes did not explicitly mention Discord integration, Tez2 managed to uncover additional details. Currently, Discord usage remains disabled, but it is anticipated to be enabled on March 4th. Once activated, players will be able to share their gaming activities, allowing friends to see what they are playing and potentially join them in the same lobby or session. The titles confirmed to receive Discord integration include:

  • GTA V Enhanced PC (New version)
  • GTA V Legacy PC (Old version)
  • GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition
  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Red Dead Redemption 2

Earlier this month, Rockstar Games also made their Discord server public, featuring several “Looking For Group” channels for heists and other activities. This move suggests that players will soon be just a click away from connecting with others in GTA Online.

FiveM And Game Pass Support?

The recent update to the Rockstar Games Launcher also introduced support for additional titles and versions, as highlighted by Tez2. The launcher now accommodates:

  • GTA V Enhanced PC (New version)
  • Cfx/FiveM Integration
  • GTA+ subscription
  • Xbox App for GTA V (PC Game Pass)

Previously, there were indications that GTA V for PC would be available on Xbox’s PC Game Pass, and this update reinforces that possibility. Tez2 shared on social media that Rockstar intends to feature GTA V on PC Game Pass, enabling players to launch it directly from the Xbox App.

Regarding the FiveM integration, Tez2 clarified that while it is not a full-fledged integration, it does allow for future connectivity. If Rockstar decides to feature a FiveM or RedM server, players will be able to connect through the Rockstar Games Launcher, linking seamlessly with either the FiveM or RedM client.

As Rockstar continues to expand its community engagement through platforms like Discord, the gaming landscape for its titles is poised for an exciting transformation. For ongoing updates about GTA 6 and other Rockstar Games news, stay tuned to RockstarINTEL.
