Rockstar support sites let slip that we might be getting current(ish) gen versions of GTA4 and Red Dead Redemption 2—but they probably won’t be anything to write home about on PC

Recent developments have stirred excitement among gaming enthusiasts, particularly regarding the potential re-releases of two iconic titles: Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4. Information surfaced from Rockstar’s support pages, which hinted at a current-generation re-release of RDR2, alongside a puzzling last-generation revival of GTA4.

Evidence of Re-Releases

The first clue regarding the RDR2 re-release emerged from a user known as Livid-Army-5857 on the Red Dead Redemption subreddit. They shared a screenshot showcasing an “Online Migration” option for Red Dead Online on Rockstar’s support website. This feature mirrors a similar option that was made available for Grand Theft Auto Online players when GTA5 transitioned to current-gen consoles.

In a parallel revelation, another user, devonY7, contributed to the conversation on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit. They posted a screenshot from Rockstar’s support page that listed PlayStation 4 as a platform option for GTA4. Notably, this title has never been available on PS4, suggesting that it might receive treatment akin to what Red Dead Redemption experienced in 2023. This earlier rollout saw the cowboy classic debut on PS4 and Switch, followed by its long-awaited PC release a year later.

As the gaming community digests this information, the anticipation surrounding these potential re-releases continues to grow, leaving many to speculate about what Rockstar has in store for its beloved franchises.
