Rocksteady ending development for Suicide Squad in January

Studio Rocksteady has announced a significant shift in its development strategy regarding the much-discussed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In a recent blog post, the studio revealed that it will conclude its development efforts next month, specifically after the release of Season 4 Episode 8 of post-launch content. This final episode is set to debut in January.

Final Chapter and Ongoing Features

In their communication, Rocksteady stated, “That will serve as the last seasonal Episode for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.” This closing chapter will culminate in an epic confrontation against Brainiac. However, players need not worry about losing access to the game entirely. All online features will remain operational, allowing gamers to continue enjoying cooperative play with friends and revisit previous seasonal and episodic content.

Additionally, the studio has introduced a new Offline mode, which enables players to engage with the main story campaign and all post-launch seasonal gameplay content without requiring an internet connection. This feature aims to enhance the gaming experience for those who prefer a solo adventure.

Despite its ambitious launch in January, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faced a challenging reception, garnering mixed reviews and disappointing sales figures. Publisher Warner Bros has acknowledged that the game did not meet its expectations, prompting this decisive pivot in development.
