Korean developer Shift Up has officially announced that the highly anticipated PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch in 2025. This confirmation emerged from the studio’s latest investor report, which also highlighted an optimistic sales forecast for the PC edition, projecting it to surpass that of the PS5. This expectation is largely attributed to Steam’s expansive user base and the recent success of the action game Black Myth: Wukong, which has captured considerable attention in the gaming community.
In addition to its gaming endeavors, Shift Up is making strategic moves to broaden its international presence. The company plans to establish a new office in Los Angeles, a significant step following its impressive IPO that raised 0 million in July. However, amidst these expansions, Shift Up is also navigating a legal challenge concerning the Stellar Blade intellectual property. The owner of StellarBlade.com has initiated a lawsuit against both Shift Up and Sony, alleging trademark infringement.
On the development front, the studio remains committed to enhancing the gaming experience. The recent PS5 Pro update introduced new graphics presets—Pro and Pro Max—designed to support high frame rates, elevating the visual quality of the game. Players can look forward to a free update next week, which will feature a Photo Mode and a downloadable content collaboration with Square Enix’s NieR Automata. Notably, these updates and DLCs are expected to be available from day one on the PC version.
Stellar Blade has already garnered attention for its gameplay, receiving a commendable score of 9 in Wccftech’s review of the PS5 version. Reviewer Kai Tatsumoto noted the game as a “marvelous feast for the eyes” and praised its technical prowess as an action RPG. While some may find the character design of the hyper-sexualized Eve controversial, others familiar with the genre’s evolution will likely appreciate the artistic choices. Ultimately, Stellar Blade is positioned as a must-play title for those who enjoy action games, particularly after hours when the younger audience has settled in for the night.
