The Copper Cape Quest: A Creative Journey in Minecraft
The recent Copper Cape Quest event in Minecraft has proven to be a delightful experience, not only for the array of enticing loot it has provided but also for its unexpected motivational impact on real-life organization. While my personal space remains a whirlwind of chaos, my office now presents the façade of someone who has their life in order. Although I didn’t earn a stylish cape for my efforts, the conclusion of the quest brings exciting news from the Minecraft team: there are now three distinct ways to acquire your very own Copper Cape in-game.
Launched alongside the impressive Copper Age update a few weeks ago, the Copper Cape Quest has engaged players in various activities, such as smashing pumpkins atop copper blocks and utilizing the resulting Copper Golems to declutter our inventories. My own inventory resembled one of those perplexing images where individual items are indistinguishable, making this event a timely intervention for one of the most beloved survival games.
With over 75 million golems constructed and more than 500 million items organized, we are now approaching the final stretch of this event. To maximize your chances of securing a Copper Cape before the quest concludes, Mojang has outlined three straightforward methods: one within the game, one outside of it, and one in real life. Each method is refreshingly simple and can be completed in just a few minutes.
- In-Game Method: To unlock the cape, players must place a copper statue in-game. This can be achieved by waiting for a Copper Golem to fully oxidize, picking it up, and placing it back down, or by entering Creative Mode to spawn one. Be mindful that you have until 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM BST on October 20, 2025, to obtain the Copper Cape through the Copper Golem method.
- Out-of-Game Method: If you find yourself away from the game, you can still earn the cape by engaging with Minecraft content on Twitch or TikTok. This requires watching five minutes of content on Affiliate or Partner channels within the Minecraft category on Twitch, or three minutes of Game Reward-enabled streams on TikTok. You have until November 19, 2025, to complete this task.
- Real-Life Method: For those attending TwitchCon San Diego from October 17 to October 19, 2025, a physical code can be obtained from the Minecraft booth. Just ensure you redeem it before the November 19 deadline.
Once you’ve secured your Copper Cape—much to the chagrin of Edna Mode, who famously declared, “no capes!”—you can flaunt your new accessory during your next adventure in one of the best Minecraft seeds. Alternatively, explore various Minecraft mods that might enhance the appearance of your copper attire.
