Bethesda CEO Todd Howard Addresses Fallout Series in Recent Interview
Bethesda CEO Todd Howard recently sat down for an interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays, discussing a range of topics including the controversy surrounding Starfield’s DLC pricing and upcoming projects from Bethesda. However, the conversation also touched on the original Fallout games, developed by Black Isle Studios but now owned by Bethesda.
Howard made it clear that Bethesda has no plans to remake the first games in the series – Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout: Tactics. Instead, the focus is on ensuring that these classic titles remain accessible to players on PC. “A main priority for us is to make sure they’re available and you can still play them on the PC,” Howard stated. “And making sure that they run OK.”
While Bethesda may not be revisiting the early isometric Fallout games, Howard acknowledged the dedicated modding community that continues to enhance and improve the gaming experience. He emphasized that the priority for Bethesda is to ensure that players can still enjoy these classic titles, even if they may not be receiving official remakes or remasters.
For fans who are eager for a first-person Fallout 2 experience, Howard confirmed that Bethesda is not pursuing such a project. However, he noted that a group of dedicated modders is working on creating a mod that will allow players to experience the game from a new perspective.
