Ubisoft reports massive dips in revenue and bookings for 2024/25

French publishing giant Ubisoft has faced a challenging financial landscape, reporting significant declines in both revenue and net bookings for the fiscal year concluding in March 2025. The company recorded a revenue of €1.9 billion (.1 billion), marking a 17.5% decrease compared to the previous year. Additionally, net bookings fell by 20.5%, settling at €1.84 billion ( billion). The back catalogue also saw a downturn, with net bookings dropping 13.5% to €1.3 billion (.45 billion).

Resilience Amidst Challenges

Despite these sobering figures, CEO and founder Yves Guillemot highlighted some silver linings within the company’s financial report. “This year has been a challenging one for Ubisoft, with mixed dynamics across our portfolio, amid intense industry competition,” he noted. However, he emphasized that the company managed to generate positive free cash flow throughout the fiscal year, a testament to the discipline exercised across the organization.

In light of the hurdles ahead, Ubisoft has taken proactive measures to fortify its future. Guillemot pointed to the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows as a pivotal moment for the company, which not only reaffirmed the strength of the Assassin’s Creed brand but also garnered a highly favorable response from both long-time fans and newcomers. Furthermore, Ubisoft successfully completed its initial cost savings program ahead of schedule, with plans to implement additional savings of at least €100 million over the next two years. This initiative aims to enhance structural efficiencies and solidify the foundations of the organization.
