New Insights into Assassin’s Creed Hexe Emerge Amidst Leaks
In a surprising turn of events, fresh details have surfaced regarding Assassin’s Creed Hexe, a title that has been shrouded in mystery and described by Ubisoft as a “darker” addition to the beloved franchise. The information, which was not officially intended for release, has been shared by the well-known leaker “Rogue” on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit.
According to Rogue, the game will predominantly take place in Würzburg, Germany, set against the backdrop of the witch trials in 1625. While players can expect to explore surrounding areas, the city itself will serve as the core environment for the majority of the gameplay.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced a significant leadership change within the Assassin’s Creed team, with Jean Guesdon stepping in as head of content following the departure of the previous director. Recently, the project faced another shift as game director Benoit Richer also exited the team, leaving fans curious about the future direction of Hexe.
Despite Ubisoft’s ongoing promotion of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake slated for July, there has been a conspicuous silence regarding Hexe. The anticipation surrounding the game has only intensified, particularly as the other new title, Invictus, has also been subject to leaks, which Ubisoft has claimed were “heavily altered,” likely involving AI manipulation.
As the leaks continue to flow, one can’t help but wonder if Ubisoft might soon need to establish a dedicated space for what could be considered “gaming’s worst-kept secret” within the Assassin’s Creed series.
