A Batavia resident, Enrique L. Gonzalez, aged 27, faces serious legal repercussions following allegations of possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse materials. On January 9, he was charged with 18 felony counts, which include both the dissemination and possession of such materials, along with two additional counts related to possessing images containing abusive content. This information was disclosed in a recent release by the Batavia Police Department.
Investigation Timeline
The investigation began when the Chicago Police Department alerted Batavia authorities on November 28, 2025, regarding a potential offender residing in the vicinity. This notification prompted local law enforcement to delve deeper into the matter, leading them to a cybertip that linked an account on the Kik messenger app to the alleged abusive materials.
As the investigation progressed, police were able to establish that the Kik account in question was associated with Gonzalez. Subsequent search warrants were executed, allowing authorities to examine his residence, mobile phone, and vehicle. The Batavia Police Department reported that these searches yielded further evidence supporting the allegations against Gonzalez.
Gonzalez is scheduled to appear in court at the Kane County Judicial Center on January 21, where he will face the charges brought against him.
