SBC DIGEST: Annual meeting app available now; GuideStone to have strong presence at meeting

The official app for the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting has officially launched, now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. This essential tool is designed to enhance the experience for attendees as they navigate the various sessions, luncheons, and the exhibit hall throughout the event.

Enhanced Navigation Features

Jonathan Howe, the SBC Executive Committee Vice President for Convention Administration, highlighted the app’s significant upgrades. “This year’s app features significantly improved, easy-to-use maps that help you quickly find sessions, exhibitors, and key locations, along with a faster, more intuitive experience overall,” he noted. The app also includes a local area map, providing messengers with guidance as they explore The City Beautiful beyond the convention center.

While punctuality remains the responsibility of the attendees, the app ensures they have all the necessary details and directions to reach their destinations efficiently. “The app is your guide to the entire meeting. Everything you need, from schedules and event locations to Lifeway Village details and parking and shuttle information, is included and easy to navigate,” Howe added. Additionally, users can access timely news related to the annual meeting and profiles of candidates nominated for SBC offices. A separate app for the pastors’ conference will be released as the meeting date approaches.

GuideStone’s Engagement at the Meeting

In another highlight, GuideStone Financial Services is poised to make a notable impact at the annual meeting. President Hance Dilbeck invites attendees to visit the GuideStone exhibit, where they can check their retirement plans and receive wellness screenings. “We want everyone to come by the booth to check their retirement and get a wellness screening,” Dilbeck shared during an interview with Howe as part of the SBC Executive Committee’s “Road to Orlando” series.

Attendees are also encouraged to participate in a meaningful initiative by writing cards to recipients of Mission:Dignity, a program that provides financial assistance to retired ministers and their widows. “And if you do those three things, you’ll be entered to win a set of golf clubs,” Dilbeck added, making the booth an engaging stop for all.

During the interview, Dilbeck discussed GuideStone’s commitment to supporting pastors and ministry workers in their journey to finish well. He emphasized the organization’s role in protecting its participants through shareholder advocacy related to GuideStone mutual funds, ensuring that biblical values are upheld. “When we see a corporation doing something we think is objectionable, we communicate with their leadership,” he explained. With billion in assets under management, including approximately billion invested in mutual funds, GuideStone leverages its significant holdings to advocate for shareholders effectively.
