Cardo Systems has taken a significant step in enhancing the riding experience by integrating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility into the premium version of their Ride smartphone app. This innovative feature allows motorcyclists to access navigation and ride information directly through supported motorcycle TFT displays and aftermarket screens, eliminating the need to rely solely on their smartphones.
As stated by Alon Lumbroso, CEO of Cardo Systems, the company is dedicated to creating an ecosystem that enriches every aspect of the riding journey. “At Cardo, we’re committed to delivering more than just world-class communication; we’re building an ecosystem that enhances every moment of the riding experience,” he remarked. The introduction of Apple CarPlay support is a testament to this commitment, as it enables riders to navigate confidently while keeping their focus on the road ahead.
This development signifies Cardo’s ambition to expand beyond its traditional helmet communication business. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the Venture off-road smart helmet, which incorporates its second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication technology into a Leatt-based motocross helmet. Additionally, in March, Cardo broadened its flagship Packtalk Pro range by introducing a dual-pack option, designed specifically for riding pairs seeking premium mesh communication capabilities.
The recent software update follows a visit by MCN to Cardo’s Sound Labs facility in Germany, where the company is actively developing advanced audio systems and future helmet technologies. Acquired in 2022, this facility has been instrumental in Cardo’s increasing focus on connected rider technology.
Currently, the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is accessible through the Cardo Ride Pro service on compatible TFT dashboards and aftermarket display systems, marking a new era in rider connectivity.
