Rounding up participants for a group purchase can often feel like herding cats, particularly when different payment apps come into play. However, Cash App is poised to alleviate some of that stress with the introduction of its new feature, Pools.
Introducing Pools
Today, Block, the parent company of Cash App, unveiled this innovative group payment feature designed to streamline collaborative spending. With Pools, users can invite others to contribute towards a shared expense, whether it’s for a group vacation or a communal gift. The process begins simply by navigating to the payment tab within the Cash App.
What sets Pools apart is its inclusivity; it allows not only Cash App users but also those who prefer Google Pay or Apple Pay to join in the fun. Invitations can be sent directly through the app using a user’s $cashtag, or for those outside the Cash App ecosystem, a shareable link can be generated for easy access.
Organizers of a Pool have the flexibility to name their collection and set a target amount, ensuring clarity and purpose. Once the goal is reached, they can close the pool, transfer the funds to their balance, and proceed with the intended purchase.
Currently, Pools is being rolled out to a select group of Cash App users, with plans for broader availability in the coming months. This feature is anticipated to become a valuable resource for those navigating the complexities of group payments across different platforms.
