Now, this familiar section has been transformed into a visually engaging carousel, reminiscent of the Stories feature in Google Photos.
With the new carousel, recent files are showcased on rectangular cards that provide a snapshot of the file or image. Tapping on any card brings the selected item into full-screen view, enhancing the user experience. Additionally, each card is equipped with a three-dot menu, allowing users to share, send to trash, or mark files as “Starred.” The carousel accommodates up to ten cards, after which users can click on the “see all” button to explore their recent files organized by folder names.
This innovative update has been observed in the latest beta version of the Files by Google app, as well as in the official release version 1.4237.652465286.1-release.
