First Android, now Quick Share gets a redesign on Windows

Google has unveiled a fresh look for its Quick Share application tailored for Windows users, enhancing the overall experience of file sharing across devices. This update, identified in version 1.0.2351.1, introduces a more intuitive user interface that aims to streamline the sharing process.

Notable Enhancements in UI

The most striking feature of the redesign is the introduction of an Expressive-style settings menu. This new layout organizes settings into clearly defined boxes, allowing for easy navigation. Key settings such as device name and visibility are now grouped together, while individual entries are separated by lines for improved clarity.

Additionally, the sharing section on the left side of the main menu has undergone simplification. A new header, “who can share with you,” provides users with a clearer understanding of their sharing options, making the process more user-friendly.

Despite the rollout of this updated interface, some users may experience a staggered release. For instance, even though the latest version is installed, not all users may have immediate access to the redesigned features, indicating a gradual deployment strategy.

This update follows a significant overhaul of Quick Share for Android, which introduced distinct screens for sending and receiving files. However, the Windows version maintains a more straightforward approach without the tabbed interface seen in its mobile counterpart.
