Gemini on the Pixel 10 can now handle tasks without you touching your apps

What you need to know

  • The Gemini screen automation feature is now being introduced to the Pixel 10 series in the U.S., following its initial launch on the Galaxy S26.
  • This innovative feature enables Gemini to manage various tasks, including ordering food, booking rides, and arranging grocery deliveries.
  • Usage is tiered by subscription level, with free users allowed approximately five requests per day, while Ultra subscribers can enjoy up to 120 requests daily.

Following its successful debut on the Galaxy S26 series, the Gemini app control feature is now making its way to the Google Pixel 10 lineup in the United States. This advancement was first unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2026, where Samsung and Google showcased the remarkable capabilities of Gemini in automating tasks on behalf of users. For those unfamiliar, Gemini screen automation allows users to perform actions such as ordering food, hailing a cab, or placing grocery orders—all without the need to physically interact with their devices.

Nick Sutrich, who had the opportunity to experience the feature firsthand, described it as “next level automation.” As reported by 9to5Google, this functionality is now accessible across the entire Pixel 10 range, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, all operating on the stable Android 16 QPR3.

To activate the feature, users can simply hold the power button or utilize the “Hey Google” command. Once initiated, Gemini guides users through the task step by step within a virtual window, providing real-time updates on its actions. Users maintain control throughout the process and receive a final confirmation prompt before any action is completed.

The feature can be located within the Gemini app settings under Screen automation. Currently, it supports a select group of applications, including Lyft, Uber, Uber Eats, Grubhub, DoorDash, and Starbucks. Additionally, Gemini can engage users with follow-up questions, such as choosing a drink size or selecting a store location when placing an order.

It’s important to note that the frequency of usage is determined by the user’s subscription tier. Free users are limited to approximately five requests per day, while those subscribed to Gemini Ultra can make up to 120 requests daily.
