Gemini screen automation for Android apps has free, AI Pro usage limits

Google has commenced the rollout of its Gemini screen automation feature on the Galaxy S26, introducing a new layer of convenience for users. However, this functionality comes with specific usage limits, similar to other features within the Gemini app ecosystem.

For users holding a free account, the daily limit is set at 5 requests. This feature operates by executing the app within a virtual window on the device, while cloud processing directs the phone on where to scroll, tap, and type. For those opting for enhanced capabilities, Google AI Plus subscribers, priced at .99, can enjoy 12 requests per day. Meanwhile, AI Pro members, at a cost of .99, can make 20 requests daily. The premium tier, Google AI Ultra, available for 9.99, significantly increases the limit to 120 requests each day.

It is important to note that screen automation differs from the Gemini Agent feature, which remains exclusive to AI Ultra subscribers. This advanced capability utilizes a live web browser instance in the cloud, allowing members to make up to 200 requests per day.

The Gemini screen automation feature currently supports a range of popular services, including Lyft, Uber, GrubHub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Starbucks. Users can issue various commands, such as:

Book a ride:

  • Book a ride to the airport
  • Schedule a ride for tomorrow

Order food:

  • Reorder my last coffee
  • Order pizza for delivery

Order groceries:

  • Add milk and eggs to my grocery cart
  • Order groceries to my mom’s house

Currently, this feature is available on the Galaxy S26 series in the US and Korea. Support for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL is forthcoming and will also be accessible in the US.
