However, reports suggest that the upcoming Pixel 10 may receive a significant upgrade, possibly rebranded as Gemini Space. Initial hints of this feature emerged in last month’s Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1, where a system configuration file labeled “Ambient Data” was discovered. Notably, this file appeared in the firmware for both the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro, indicating that this enhancement may extend beyond just the Pixel 10.
Further investigation has revealed references to an “Ambience Hub,” although its precise function remains unclear. The name implies a novel approach to presenting useful information on the lock screen or always-on display, potentially enriching user interaction.

The Android System Intelligence app plays a pivotal role in this development, serving as the underlying technology for the current At a Glance widget. Analyzing its code has unveiled direct mentions of Gemini Space, along with indications of support for features like financial recaps and sports updates.
Interestingly, the Pixel Launcher’s At a Glance widget is expected to incorporate these finance recaps and sports updates. Recent code discoveries within the Android System Intelligence app suggest that two exclusive upgrades are on the horizon: Finance Recap for quick market insights and a long-awaited Sports feature that is finally nearing completion. However, it is important to note that these developments remain speculative, and there is always the possibility that Gemini Space could evolve into something entirely different.
