In a recent APK teardown, Android Authority contributor AssembleDebug uncovered a line of code indicating that if a mobile signature isn’t set, Gmail would default to using the web signature instead. This feature has begun to make its way to users, as noted by Artem Russakovskii from Android Police.
Russakovskii shared his experience on social media, noting that he had not previously created a mobile signature within the Gmail app. Consequently, his emails sent from mobile devices lacked a signature. However, he observed that the app has now started to automatically apply his desktop signature for both replies and new messages. This seamless integration appears to be functioning without the need for any additional settings, as the app intuitively adds the signature on its own.
This enhancement represents a significant quality-of-life improvement for Gmail users. By allowing signatures to be managed in one central location, Google has simplified the process, making it easier for professionals to maintain consistency in their communications.
