Enhanced Google Play Store Experience for Android Users
Setting up a new Android phone has traditionally been a time-consuming task, with users often finding themselves waiting for apps to install one by one. This process has been streamlined thanks to a recent update to the Google Play Store, which now allows for the simultaneous downloading and installation of multiple apps.
The feature was initially detected by the keen eyes at 9to5Google and is included in the Google Play 40.6.31 update. Users can verify their current version by navigating to the Play Store settings via their profile photo, then tapping on the About section. An update button is also available for those who need to upgrade to the latest iteration.
Our own experimentation revealed that the new functionality currently supports up to two simultaneous downloads, with any additional apps queued as pending. This effectively doubles the previous download speed, marking a significant improvement in efficiency.
It’s important to note that this new feature is applicable only to fresh installations and does not extend to app updates, which will continue to update sequentially. The gradual rollout of simultaneous downloads is a strategic move by Google to monitor performance and ensure stability before making it widely available across the Play Store.
