Pearl Abyss has released a significant update (1.04.00) for the open-world RPG Crimson Desert within a month of its launch, introducing three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. The update features redesigned boss combat patterns, multiple housing layout options, improved furniture controls, and new storage solutions for crafting and cooking items. Players can now also bond with birds through the new Sotdae of Bond item, expanding pet options. WWII RTS ‘Sudden Strike 5’ Launches on PC on the 23rd

The architecture for passkey syncing includes confidential computing for sensitive operations, hardware-rooted key protection for encryption keys, tamper-evident recovery storage, and encrypted synchronization across devices. Sensitive passkey operations are executed in Azure's confidential computing environments, ensuring cryptographic materials are processed securely. The encryption keys are protected using Azure Managed HSM, with access governed by attestation-based mechanisms. Registration and recovery processes require user authentication and enforce security measures within confidential computing boundaries, including a lockout state after consecutive incorrect PIN attempts. The system aims to provide a secure and user-friendly experience as part of a transition to a passwordless future.

Goodbye, OTPs and magic links: Signing up for new Android apps just got a lot easier

Google has introduced a Verified Email feature for Android applications that simplifies the sign-up process by eliminating the need for magic links and one-time PINs (OTPs). This feature allows users to register for apps using a "cryptographically verified email credential" sourced from their Google account, which is securely stored on their device. It enhances security by enabling app developers to prompt users to create a passkey during registration. The Verified Email feature can also be used for account recovery and re-authentication for sensitive actions. However, it is currently limited to consumer Gmail accounts, and users with Workspace or managed accounts must still use traditional verification methods. Additionally, Google accounts created with non-Google email addresses may require extra verification steps from app developers. The feature is accessible on devices running Android 9 or newer and Google Play Services version 25.49.xx or later.

Riot admits it “made mistakes” with League of Legends’ ranked season, imposes hard reset at apex levels

Riot Games is revising the matchmaking framework for League of Legends in preparation for the 2026 season, including the introduction of the Aegis of Valor for autofilled players and reinstating duo queues across all tiers. Players in apex ranks have reported issues with inconsistent matchmaking and LP gain discrepancies. In response, Riot will implement a hard reset of the apex ranked ladder with patch 26.09, placing all players at Master 0 LP. This reset aims to create a more equitable environment but may lead to "wonky matchups." All rewards for Season 1 will be distributed as planned, while Season 3 will reconcile rewards for apex-tier players based on their highest rank. Starting in 2027, LP gain and loss will increase to a maximum of 30, and minimum LP cutoffs for Challenger and Grandmaster will rise to 800 LP and 400 LP, respectively. The apex ranked reset will take effect at the beginning of Season 2 on April 29, impacting regions including BR, EUNE, EUW, LAN, NA, and TR. Initial community reactions have been more positive than expected.

Tanzania welcomes MAX, the new Russian messaging app

A new Russian-developed messaging application called MAX has been launched in Tanzania, designed to provide effective communication even in areas with limited internet connectivity. Fallout: New Vegas dev says it could’ve been set in New Orleans because ‘the vibe was so cool, the flavor was cool, [it would’ve been] so sweet’

Chris Avellone stated that Bethesda does not possess the source code for Fallout: New Vegas. He discussed an unfulfilled concept for a New Orleans setting in the game, featuring a plot with a private investigator and four Grendels, each with distinct characteristics. Avellone expressed interest in exploring a Fallout New Orleans. He mentioned the Fallout TV series and its potential to influence Fallout 5, confirming Bethesda's reluctance to explore San Francisco in earlier pitches. Avellone left Obsidian in 2015 due to disputes but has worked on other RPGs since then and is currently collaborating with Red Info on a new project. There are ongoing rumors about a potential remaster of New Vegas.

Google is testing a more vibrant, organized Gemini app, and I hope it sticks

Google is testing a visual overhaul for its Gemini application on Android devices, introducing brighter colors and new icons.
