The Witcher 3’s expansion reveal is scheduled for next month

CD Projekt Red announced a new expansion for The Witcher 3 titled Songs of the Past, set to release in 2027. The expansion is co-developed with Fool's Theory and aims to provide a substantial experience similar to the Blood and Wine expansion. A reveal will take place on August 25 during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event. CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski mentioned that the expansion will cater to various playstyles and that the decision to delay the release from 2026 to 2027 allows for a more polished product. Additionally, there will be 80 new beard styles for Geralt.

Darkest Dungeon—the original—is getting surprise DLC in August

Darkest Dungeon is set to expand with a new DLC titled The Fire's Edge, releasing on August 18th. This DLC introduces two new hero classes, the Duelist and the Runaway, along with new Trinket mechanics and three additional districts. The Duelist is a complex damage dealer, while the Runaway features a new Burn damage type. Both heroes are re-envisioned from their appearances in Darkest Dungeon II. The game has received an 88% review score and won the "Best RPG" award in 2016.

Microsoft Confirms WSUS Sync Issue Causing Update Delays and Timeouts

Microsoft has identified synchronization delays and timeout errors affecting Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), which risks the timely delivery of Windows updates. WSUS is a management tool for distributing Windows updates across networks. Microsoft deprecated WSUS in September 2024 but continues to provide security fixes and updates. The synchronization issue has led to failures and delays in downloading update metadata, particularly impacting Windows 11 version 23H2 and later, Windows 10 version 1607, and Windows Server 2012 and later. This issue began around July 13, 2026, with mitigation efforts starting on July 18, 2026. Microsoft has released a partial fix for newly installed or rebuilt WSUS servers, while existing servers may still face challenges. The company is developing additional fixes and guidance. In previous years, Microsoft dealt with other WSUS-related issues affecting enterprise clients.
