An unofficial PC version of the arcade classic Time Crisis has been released as part of the “Namco System 22 games for PC” initiative, which aims to bring several arcade games to the PC platform. The namco22-decompile project currently supports five titles: Time Crisis, Rave Racer, Dirt Dash, Tokyo Wars, and Prop Cycle. These games run more efficiently than traditional emulators and support widescreen formats and resolutions up to 4K. The Time Crisis port features mouse control support and compatibility with light guns. Players need to supply their own ROM files to enjoy the games, as the project does not include in-game assets. Other unofficial PC ports include titles such as Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Donkey Kong Country games. September 2026 has seen various unofficial PC ports, including Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, GTA: Liberty City Stories, and Super Mario Strikers.

A user on the PCBaumeister subreddit shared that they purchased a secondhand CPU, which was linked to a prior owner's ban from the game Valorant. Riot Games stated that hardware bans last four months and do not transfer to new components in a different system. Phillip Koskinas from Riot's anti-cheat division could not find any support ticket related to the user's claims, indicating that the scenario might be unlikely. The user bought the CPU on September 21, while the original owner's ban was recorded on August 12, raising questions about the validity of the claims. The incident has sparked discussions about the possibility of inheriting hardware bans and the frustrations players face when locked out of games. Miscommunication may have contributed to the situation, highlighting potential inconsistencies in support responses from Riot Games.

Google has announced enhancements to Android Auto, particularly for media applications. A redesigned media app player has been introduced for apps like Spotify and YouTube Music, providing easier access to playback controls and optimizing for various screen sizes. Users will soon be able to swipe between active media sessions from the dashboard widget, improving multitasking while driving. Improvements have been made to the autoplay function, ensuring that media apps not recently used will not be selected for autoplay, and Android Auto will recognize user behavior patterns regarding autoplay. The new "squiggly line" design for the media player has been confirmed as a permanent addition, aimed at providing a clearer visual representation of track progress.

Phone upgrades often lead to replacing devices every couple of years, but old phones still hold value. Users typically choose to deal with their old phones in the following ways: 26% sell or trade it in, 26% hand it down to family or friends, 42% turn it into a dedicated gadget, and 5% let it sit in a drawer. Old phones can be kept as second devices for personal and work separation, used as an Android Auto display, or serve as a backup phone for emergencies. They can also be repurposed into gadgets like dash cams, security cameras, music players, e-readers, universal remotes, or PC companions. Additionally, they can replace webcams, act as second screens, or provide portable storage. If repurposing isn’t appealing, selling the phone is a practical option, with a strong market for used phones on platforms like SellCell, Swappa, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace. Trading it in may yield better benefits, especially with retailer promotions, and donating it to charity is another option.
