The “Continue Activity” feature will officially debut around mid-September 2026 within the “Cross-Device Services” settings on Android. It includes the “Task Handoff” feature, allowing users to transition tasks between devices. Users can also toggle access to apps, media, and notifications across Android devices, Chromebooks, or Googlebooks. The rollout is currently focused on the “Pixel 11” series, including the “Pixel 11 Pro XL” and “Pixel 11 Pro Fold,” with plans to expand to other devices running “Android 17.”

Google is set to launch Googlebook laptops, which will integrate with Android devices and serve as an alternative to Chromebooks. An early version of Google’s Cross-Device Services system app has revealed a feature called the “Cast trackpad,” allowing users to control their Googlebooks using their phone’s touchscreen. This feature will support basic gesture controls, include buttons for functions like “back” and volume control, and offer adjustable sensitivity settings. The Googlebooks are expected to be released this fall, with multiple manufacturers involved in their rollout.
