Binance's Android app has been removed from Google Play in Spain and Latvia due to the lack of a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization, which is required for crypto exchanges serving EU users. Binance withdrew its MiCA application in Greece before the July 1 deadline. The app is still available on Google Play in several other countries, including Poland, and can be downloaded from alternative Android stores.

The European Union has finalized the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations to create a unified regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies within its member states. This legislation aims to increase security for investors, combat fraud, prevent money laundering, and maintain financial system stability. MiCA requires cryptocurrency companies to be licensed in the EU, adhere to consumer protection measures, maintain capital requirements, and disclose investment risks to consumers. The regulations also promote environmental sustainability in cryptocurrency mining. The EU's MiCA framework is expected to influence global cryptocurrency regulation and is set to be implemented in 2024 after a transition period for companies to comply with the new rules. This move is seen as a significant step towards the mainstream acceptance of cryptocurrencies.
