A developer enhanced the user experience on his parents' Xiaomi TV by disabling 25 pre-installed packages, creating a home screen similar to that of an Apple TV. This effort is part of his open-source project, cleanyourtv, which is compatible with 107 TV models across 37 brands. The tools used allow users to deactivate apps without permanently deleting them, enabling easy restoration. The project has gained popularity, with thousands of users applying similar techniques, improving their TVs' performance and functionality. Users have reported freeing up memory and customizing their devices creatively, while concerns about privacy and data collection from smart TVs continue to be raised. Microsoft's AI agent security is structured around three execution boundaries: local process isolation, session isolation, and cloud-based Windows 365 for Agents. The introduction of Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) on June 2, 2026, enhances local isolation through two methods: process isolation, which restricts an agent's access to specific files and networks, and session isolation, which separates an agent from the user's interactive environment. The MXC framework includes policies for filesystem access, network traffic, and user-interface controls, with an audit mode that disables sandbox security for analysis purposes. The choice between local isolation and Windows 365 for Agents depends on the agent's execution environment, with local isolation providing limited access and Windows 365 offering a completely separate cloud environment. MXC is in early preview, while Windows 365 for Agents is generally available.

Windows 98 SE now has experimental support for USB4 and Thunderbolt 3/4 through the xHCI98 v3.0.0.0 driver developed by Yeo Kheng Meng. This driver enables the use of generic USB 3.x, USB4, and Thunderbolt host controllers on legacy operating systems like Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, and 7. It allows connections for USB storage devices, replaces native USB drivers, and supports USB 1.1, 2.0, SuperSpeed devices, UAS storage, and Thunderbolt docks and NVMe enclosures. Meng utilized AI tools for development and primarily tested the driver on Intel hardware, while advising users to be cautious of potential bugs. He also provides guidance on hardware compatibility, installation methods, and updates.

Star Wars Zero Company has released its 1.2 patch, introducing a granular difficulty system that enhances gameplay with tactical adjustments rather than just increasing enemy stats. The patch includes options to eliminate the injury system, adjust the injury threshold before permadeath, reduce or remove health scaling, and restrict the respec function. The default difficulty is now more engaging than the original hard mode, and incorporating these options can significantly change gameplay dynamics. Player feedback indicates that those who found the game too easy will appreciate the update, though there are concerns about the visibility of the entire map and enemy locations. Developer Bit Reactor has begun to reinstate furloughed employees following the game's success.

In Windows 11, certain names such as CON, PRN, AUX, and NUL are reserved as they correspond to specific devices, preventing users from naming folders with these terms. These reserved names date back to DOS 1.0, where folders did not exist. The names have specific functions: CON refers to the console, PRN to the printer, AUX to an auxiliary device, and NUL to a null device that discards output. Attempts to rename a folder to any of these names result in an error message indicating the device name is invalid. Adding extensions to these names does not bypass the restriction, as names like NUL.txt are still treated as equivalent to NUL. Despite some changes in Windows 11, the prohibition against using these reserved names for files or folders remains in place due to legacy compatibility concerns.
