Xbox 360 Games Are Reportedly Coming To PC As Well

Developers will have the option to set their own pricing for PC versions of games and include them in the Game Pass subscription service. Meet deGDID: Windscribe’s answer to the Windows tracker that VPNs cannot mask

Windscribe has introduced deGDID, a tool aimed at countering the Global Device Identifier (GDID), a Windows tracking mechanism that can trace user activities despite VPN usage. The GDID is a persistent identifier assigned to individual Windows installations, remaining unchanged through updates but reset during a clean reinstallation. It can link telemetry data and browsing history to a specific device, allowing Microsoft to track users across different sessions. deGDID works by modifying the hosts file and implementing firewall rules to prevent Windows from retrieving the GDID and to erase local identity artifacts. Users can download and execute the degdid.ps1 script from GitHub in PowerShell, which includes options for checking status, blocking the GDID, and reversing changes. The tool is not designed for corporate machines and may disrupt access to services like Xbox and Outlook due to its firewall rules. Windscribe warns that it cannot guarantee the complete eradication of GDID pathways or existing records held by Microsoft.

Open-World Survival Game with Over 80K Wishlists Just Got Its PC Release Date (And It’s Soon)

Delverium, an indie sandbox survival game from Sagestone Games, is set to enter Early Access on PC via Steam on September 22nd. The game has over 80,000 wishlists and features pixel graphics, open-world survival, and farming simulations. Players can explore a vast pixel-art world, engage in activities like fighting, fishing, farming, and foraging, and play solo or cooperatively with up to eight friends. Former Microsoft dev brings Windows Task Manager to Mac

Dave W. Plummer, the original developer of the Windows Task Manager, has launched a beta project called Task Manager OG (TMOG) as an alternative to macOS's Activity Monitor. TMOG is built from scratch using Swift and does not contain any code from Windows XP. Microsoft provided Plummer with the source code of the XP Task Manager, but TMOG is independent. Initially intended for distribution through the Mac App Store, TMOG will instead be available for direct download due to Apple's sandboxing restrictions and guidelines against terminating other applications. Plummer plans to develop a Windows version and potentially a Pro version in the future.
