Black Ops 7 is finally getting one of Call of Duty’s most iconic maps

Summit, a popular map from Call of Duty, will return in Black Ops 7 as part of the Season 3 Reloaded patch. Originally introduced in Black Ops 1, it features a research facility on a snowy mountain with narrow corridors and a central research room. Summit has been updated with visual enhancements and advanced technology while retaining its iconic cable cars. Additionally, Hacienda from Black Ops 4 will also return, alongside new maps like Onsen and Ascent Freerun. The update includes new weapons such as the Siren special weapon and a Katana melee option, as well as a new Zombies map called Totenreich. Black Ops 7: Season 3 Reloaded launches on April 30, 2026, at 9am PST.

Rust’s Spring Clean update nerfs the shield meta and boosts early game energy

The Rust April update introduces several enhancements, including the new Water Wheel, a renewable energy source that generates up to 30 power when placed in a river. The update features a new craftable item, the Armored Ladder Hatch, which requires 60 Scrap, 35 High-Quality Metal, six Gears, and a Wooden Ladder. Adjustments to shield mechanics have been made, reducing the hitbox size when the shield is not actively held. A tech-tree unlock chaining feature allows players to unlock an entire research path at once if they have enough Scrap. A new radial menu for low-light solutions enables individual control of light sources. Fishing mechanics have been adjusted to prevent overfishing, with server admins able to modify this feature. Additional updates include new colored buttons, improved UI elements, and a transition to a new terrain rendering system for better CPU performance. The update coincides with an Easter Egg Hunt event running until April 16, featuring themed cosmetics.

How to complete the Black Ops 7 Ashes of the Damned Easter Egg

The Zombies map "Ashes of the Damned" features the largest round-based map in Call of Duty history, with a main questline and numerous easter eggs. Players use a truck named Ol' Tessie for transport, which carries the Pack-a-Punch machine. To unlock Pack-a-Punch, players must retrieve T.E.D.D.'s Head from the Server Room at Janus Towers Plaza and install it on Ol' Tessie. Players gather six ingredients for a serum, which involves specific actions at different locations. Players solve various puzzles at different locations, culminating in a final boss fight against Veytharion, where they must utilize Ol' Tessie and strategic gameplay to succeed.

Black Ops 7 Season 1 release date and details

Black Ops 7 Season 1 is set to release on Thursday, December 4, 2025, around 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. The season will introduce a new main Zombies map with its own quest and two survival maps inspired by Ashes of the Damned. The second primary Zombies map is called Astra Malorum, featuring an expansive easter egg quest. New multiplayer maps confirmed for Season 1 include Fate, Utopia, Odysseus, Standoff, Meltdown, and Yakei. Additional content will include new modes, weekly challenges, event challenges, expanded armory access, and a fresh selection of weapons in the Season 1 battle pass.
