Tested: Microsoft cloned Outlook Classic’s look into a New Outlook theme, instead of building a native Windows 11 app

Microsoft introduced a new theme for its New Outlook that resembles Outlook Classic, responding to user preferences for a familiar interface. In August 2026, an optional setting was rolled out for New Outlook on Windows 11 and Windows 10, allowing users to enable a “classic Outlook style” through Settings > General > Appearance. This feature alters the interface to echo Outlook Classic while functioning as a web app. Key redesigns include a dark background title bar, updated navigation bar, and a new Calendar view. The mail folder list has been made more compact, and the ribbon has been updated with familiar design elements. Despite these changes, users still express a desire for a native Outlook app, as the current version operates as a resource-intensive Edge instance.

Mike Tomlin’s 12-year-long Minecraft hobby is being questioned: “You don’t see Andy Reid doing that”

Mike Tomlin has spent 12 years building a detailed virtual city in Minecraft, initially as a way to bond with his children. His city features hotels, apartments, sports venues, and an aquarium, serving as a therapeutic escape from coaching pressures. Tomlin's project developed between 2014 and 2025, coinciding with the Steelers' struggles in the NFL Playoffs despite having talented rosters. Criticism arose from fans and former player Le'Veon Bell, who questioned Tomlin's dedication to the team. The city includes a large body of water, a boutique hotel with an executive spa, glass ceilings for natural light, an aquarium-themed apartment high-rise, a CVS, and various sports facilities. Despite his commitment to this project, Tomlin led the Steelers to a Super Bowl victory in 2009 and has maintained competitiveness in his coaching career.

Top 5 Proxy vs VPN for Android App Developers Tools to Secure Test Builds

In Android app development, maintaining connectivity, security, and debugging capabilities is crucial. When connecting to a London edge server, all requests must be visible to QA teams, but using a consumer VPN can hinder debugging proxies. A debugging proxy allows developers to inspect request headers and modify data by terminating TLS on their workstation. In contrast, a VPN creates an encrypted tunnel for all device traffic but prevents debugging proxies from intercepting packets. TorGuard is a hybrid solution that combines a VPN with SOCKS5 and V2Ray endpoints, allowing for traffic encryption and application-specific proxying. mitmproxy is an open-source tool that enables scripted request manipulation and can intercept various traffic types. Tailscale uses a WireGuard-based mesh network to provide stable private IPs for devices without needing port forwarding. HTTP Toolkit offers a rootless interception method for Android, directing traffic to a laptop without complex configurations. WireGuard is a high-speed self-hosted VPN that encrypts packets but does not allow for inspection. To inspect traffic while changing geographic egress, developers can run mitmproxy on a laptop and connect it to a VPN, ensuring the proxy is closest to the app. For debugging Android HTTPS traffic, a proxy is preferred for reading or rewriting requests, while a VPN is better for changing exit IPs or encrypted routing. SOCKS5 masks IP addresses but does not encrypt traffic.

Windows 10 Users Face a $30 Choice as Microsoft Quietly Extends Security Support to 2027

Microsoft has extended the support cutoff for Windows 10 from October 13, 2026, to October 12, 2027, due to a one-year extension of the consumer security program. Devices enrolled in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program will continue to receive updates automatically. Unenrolled devices can still enroll until October 12, 2027, to receive critical updates released since their support ended on October 14, 2025. Users in the European Economic Area can access ESU at no extra cost but must maintain a Microsoft account to avoid losing access to updates after 60 days. To qualify for ESU, devices must run Windows 10 version 22H2 in supported editions, have the latest updates, and meet specific criteria. Microsoft 365 Apps and OneDrive on Windows 10 will receive updates beyond ESU, but the operating system itself remains unprotected without ESU. As of August 2026, 25.15 percent of Windows desktops in Germany were still using Windows 10. Users can check their ESU status under Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update.

- Nintendo’s 2024 legal action against Tropic Haze, the team behind the Yuzu Switch emulator, ended with a $**.4 million settlement** and the shutdown of Yuzu. - Lime3DS rose out of the shutdown of Yuzu and Citra as a community-maintained Citra fork, but development stopped in April 2025, leading to the creation of Azahar. - Azahar is the successor project to Lime3DS, but the Android package name was not updated, causing confusion. - Azahar is the default recommendation for 3DS emulation, consolidating the scattered forks that emerged after the shutdown of Yuzu and Citra. - Azahar requires specific system files from a real Nintendo 3DS console, and users must dump their own game files legally.
