One UI 9 makes it easier to spot sideloaded apps on your Galaxy phone

Samsung is cracking down on apps that spam your phone with ads

Samsung's Device Care app, version 13.8.80.7, introduces a feature to block applications that frequently send advertisement notifications. This feature allows users to place problematic apps into a "Deep Sleep" mode, silencing their notifications. Users can choose between Basic blocking, which uses internal data to restrict known ad-spamming apps, and Intelligent blocking, which analyzes notifications in real-time. The feature is currently available only for the Galaxy S26 series and can be monitored through the settings path: Settings -> Device care -> Care report -> Excessive alerts. Your Samsung phone just got a big upgrade for editing photos, videos, and documents

Samsung has launched an update to its Galaxy Enhance-X app, now at version 16.3.00.31, featuring a redesigned interface with a three-tab layout: Plugins, Home, and History. The update includes three downloadable plugins: CinematicGlow, FilmStyle, and SkyGuide. New editing tools have been added for photos, videos, and documents, including features for blur fixing, reflection removal, HDR adjustments, and face editing. The "Doc tools" section allows for automatic cleaning and cropping of scanned documents, as well as conversion to JPEGs or PDFs. Batch editing is now possible, and all edited content is saved in standard formats, with the History tab for organization.

Samsung to End Messaging App, Switch Users to Google

Samsung will discontinue its Samsung Messages app in July 2026, urging users to switch to Google Messages. Users should download Google Messages and set it as their default messaging app before the shutdown. Users with older Android devices (Android 11 or earlier) will not be affected. Google Messages also includes generative AI features for photo remixing and simplifies conversation switching across devices. Samsung has been phasing out its messaging app, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Galaxy S25 series, which no longer preload Samsung Messages. The final date for the app's discontinuation will be communicated through the app.
