The US FDA has granted clearance for the Android version of Tandem Diabetes Care’s Tandem Mobi mobile application, allowing users to manage diabetes from compatible smartphones. The app operates on Control-IQ+ technology and connects securely with the Tandem Mobi insulin pump and Tandem Source platform, improving communication between healthcare providers and patients. The Tandem Mobi insulin pump is designed for subcutaneous insulin delivery and is approved for patients aged two years and older. A limited release of the Android app is scheduled for next month, with commercial availability expected in early 2026. Users can download the app from the Google Play Store on compatible devices, including Google Pixel 6 through 10 and Samsung Galaxy S21 through S25. Additionally, Tandem Diabetes Care announced that its t:slim X2 insulin pump will be compatible with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus continuous glucose monitoring sensor.
