Troilite is located within clumps of Mineralized Clinker, which appear as glowing mounds of scrap. Players should navigate carefully to avoid a leviathan to the east and ensure their Tadpole is upgraded for deeper dives, as accessing the area requires swimming beyond the craft's 450-meter limit. Only a small quantity of Troilite is needed for repairs.

Subnautica 2 Global Release Times, Preload Details Confirmed

Subnautica 2 will be released in early access on May 14, 2026. The game is developed by Unknown Worlds and will allow players to explore underwater biomes, encounter marine life, and craft tools and bases. It will be available for preorder on Steam, Xbox Series X and S, and the Epic Games Store, and will launch on Game Pass. Players who wishlist the game will receive a Reaper Leviathan Statue blueprint. The global release times are as follows: PDT, CST, CDT, EDT at 12am on May 14; BST at 8am; CEST at 9am; CST (Beijing) at 3pm; JST at 12am on May 15; AEST at 1am; and NZST at 3am.

Subnautica 2 dev confirms there’s no gen AI “at all” in its survival sequel

The development of Subnautica 2 faced challenges between Unknown Worlds and its publisher, Krafton, but these issues have been resolved. The game is set to release in two weeks, and Scott MacDonald, Creative Media Producer at Unknown Worlds, confirmed that no generative AI was used in its development. He stated that the studio opted for traditional development methods, with all work being done by human programmers. Design Lead Anthony Gallegos noted that Krafton recognizes that mandating AI tools could disrupt the development process. Following a legal ruling reinstating Unknown Worlds president Ted Gill, Krafton is committed to supporting the game's Early Access launch.
