Former Microsoft dev brings Windows Task Manager to Mac

Dave W. Plummer, the original developer of the Windows Task Manager, has launched a beta project called Task Manager OG (TMOG) as an alternative to macOS's Activity Monitor. TMOG is built from scratch using Swift and does not contain any code from Windows XP. Microsoft provided Plummer with the source code of the XP Task Manager, but TMOG is independent. Initially intended for distribution through the Mac App Store, TMOG will instead be available for direct download due to Apple's sandboxing restrictions and guidelines against terminating other applications. Plummer plans to develop a Windows version and potentially a Pro version in the future.

Beaumont describes her desktop as chaotic, with some organization but overall disarray.

Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows is available for a one-time payment of .97, reduced from 9.99. Microsoft Office Home and Business for Mac 2021 is priced at .97, down from 9. This promotion runs through June 28 during StackSocial's Deal Days. The Windows version includes eight applications, while the Mac version includes five applications. Both licenses allow offline access without monthly subscription fees.

Seven years later, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition finally arrives on Mac

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has been released for Mac users in 2026 by Feral Interactive, following its original PC release in 2019. The game is a real-time strategy (RTS) title that allows players to control various nations and historical figures, featuring numerous single-player campaigns and three DLC expansion packs.
