A decade on, classic strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic returns triumphant, earning its budget back in just one day

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has been launched after a decade-long hiatus, developed by Unfrozen and published by Hooded Horse. The game is a prequel featuring six factions, including Temple knights and Necromancers, and offers three modes: a story-driven campaign, custom map creation, and self-contained scenarios. It quickly became a top seller on Steam, achieving 250,000 sales within 16 hours and recouping development costs in 24 hours. A launch sale is available, offering a 25% discount until May 14. Unfrozen is actively seeking player feedback to improve the game.

Medieval sandbox sim Noble Legacy just got much more realistic, but it’s the new town pets I’m most excited about

A significant update for Noble Legacy has been released, introducing substantial changes to the medieval simulation game developed by Studio 369. The update enhances town management, allowing for larger player towns and improved villager behavior, including new factors like temperature and cleanliness. Players can recruit villagers, assign tasks, and create production chains while managing local issues and defending against bandit raids. Titled "Life, Death, and Industry," the update adds survival elements, improves villager AI with unique traits and dialogues, and emphasizes health management through warmth and hygiene. New facilities like bathhouses and apothecaries are introduced, along with a system of afflictions affecting villager performance. The population cap has increased from 50 to 70, and players can implement kingdom-wide policies through edicts. The update also features the first unique hero recruit, Hardwin the Hermit, and introduces two new scenarios along with dynamic quest generation systems. Bandit behavior has shifted to focus on resource targeting, and players can now keep town pets that assist during raids. New trading options for livestock and visual updates to buildings and armor sets have been added. A custom game mode for difficulty adjustments and a creative mode for unrestricted building are also included. The update is live and available at a discounted price until April 27.

This Nightdive-remastered 3DO shooter shows why it took Halo to break PC gaming’s FPS hegemony

Cult-Classic ’90s Horror Game Comes To Steam With Bizarre Title

Manor Lords’ dev is experimenting with a new trading system that allows for ‘deliberate economic strategies’, including establishing monopolies on resources

Manor Lords, developed by Slavic Magic, had a quiet 2025 as the team recalibrated after its successful early access launch in 2024. Activity increased in December with a significant patch that reworked core systems and castle construction mechanics. Tim Bender, CEO of publisher Hooded Horse, announced a new trade route system that connects locations to the import and export of items, allowing up to three merchants per route. Players must hire at least one merchant to engage in trade, and can attempt to buy out merchants on a route, creating contested economic territory. This system enables players to develop economic strategies, such as monopolizing Iron Slabs. Hooded Horse and Slavic Magic are seeking feedback from the Manor Lords community on these features. Additionally, Hooded Horse launched the 1.0 version of Terra Invicta, a sci-fi grand strategy game, and Bender opposed the use of AI-generated assets in their games.
